For over 60 years, the iF DESIGN AWARD has been recognized the world over as a label of design excellence. The iF logo is an internationally established symbol identifying outstanding achievements in design. The Swedish brand SKARG with the product Swenska-Hoga – fixed mooring with integrated shackle and shock absorber – has received an iF DESIGN AWARD 2015 and is among the winners of the renowned iF label.
The number of competitors was huge: the international high-profile jury assessed almost 5,000 entries from 53 countries in order to determine who would receive this coveted seal of excellence. 53 jurors from 20 countries met in Hamburg for the evaluation of the iF DESIGN AWARD 2015. During a three day evaluation process 4,783 entries from 53 countries was evaluated, but only designs which won over the jury with high design quality and innovative strength won an award. The mooring-set Swenska-Hoga was successful and was rewarded with the iF DESIGN AWARD in the discipline Product Design.
Swenska-Hoga will be featured in the iF online exhibition, the largest design exhibition on the Internet and in the iF design exhibition Hamburg, the go-to place for those with a special interest in design and architecture.
With Swenska-Hoga SKARG has succeeded with the difficult task of integrating thimble, shackle and shock absorber into a functional and intuitive mooring solution for leisure boats. The product is today available in three different lengths and three color combinations, and can be mounted to a pier or mooring fingers. Swenska-Hoga is designed and developed in Sweden by Top Notch Design AB. Head designer Mikael Ericsson will be receiving the award at BMW Welt in Munich on 27 February 2015.
SKARG’s Product Swenska-Hoga was awarded 2014 with the Red Dot Product Design Award, the world’s biggest design award.
