SKARG’s Product Swenska-Hoga is Awarded an Honorable Red Dot
The Swedish brand SKARG has been reworded with a Red Dot for the product Swenska-Hoga – fixed mooring with integrated shackle and shock absorber. Red Dot Award is the world’s biggest design award and the price, the Red Dot, is considered a quality seal for excellent design.
During the Red Dot Award 2014 the 40-member expert-jury was convinced of the high design quality of the product Swenska-Hoga. During a three day evaluation process 4,815 entries from 53 countries was evaluated, but only designs which won over the jury with high design quality and innovative strength won an award. The mooring-set Swenska-Hoga was successful and was rewarded with the coveted Red Dot in the discipline Product Design.
With Swenska-Hoga SKARG has succeeded with the difficult task of integrating thimble, shackle and shock absorber into a functional and intuitive mooring solution for leisure boats. The product is today available in three different lengths and three color combinations, and can be mounted to a pier or mooring fingers. Swenska-Hoga is designed and developed in Sweden by Top Notch Design AB with Mikael Ericsson as head designer.
With the success in the Red Dot Award 2014 Swenska-Hoga will be presented in the Red Dot Design Yearbook, as well as during a special exhibition in the Red Dot museum in Essen, Germany. The product will then be exhibited on the museum, on the world’s biggest exhibition for contemporary design, for at least one year’s time.
